When it snowed in León snowball fights broke out everywhere.
These naughty boys lobbed snowballs at all the passersby, including us. I returned fire.
HOB eating mantecadas, the specialty almond cookie of León.
I felt chilled and bought the same scarf all the teen girls are wearing.

Painting in our Hostal room.
Today was our anniversary. HOB and I have been together eighteen years, married ten years today. For our anniversary dinner we ate bread and cheese with this view. (HOB right this moment is washing my dirty laundry in the Hostal sink–I think I’ll keep him for another ten years….)
How we got to León: train from Frómista to Palencia followed by another train from Palencia to León.
Where we slept: Hostal Alda Casco Antiguo. Price: €45 for a double. Recommended: yes.
He’s a keeper!

One of my favorite meals (especially in Europe) is bread + cheese. Bonus points if it comes with wine and a view 🙂
Congratulations on your anniversary! My husband and I celebrate our one-year in a few weeks.

Time for your second honeymoon I’d say!

I agree! Unfortunately, we’re doing the responsible adult thing (ugh) and saving money to buy our first house (eeeeekkkk). So this year it will be a romantic staycation for us 🙂 I will travel vicariously through you instead!

Congratulations on your 18 years! Any man willing to wash your laundry in a sink gets two thumbs up. 🙂 Here’s wishing you all the best for your next 18 years.
This year my husband and I are celebrating 28 years together and 26 years since the big wedding day. Wow. It’s kind of amazing how all the years just kind of flow by one after the next. The one thing we’ve always regretted is not travelling together. Pretty much every year has been a “staycation” for us due to one reason or another – usually due to “the kids.” But, we are soon to be empty nesters, so we have no kids to blame. Europe is planned for next summer. I’ll enjoy reading more about your destinations, and I’ll be sure to blog our (hopefully soon) adventures. 🙂

28 years! You’ve definitely earned that romantic trip to Spain. 🙂 How many kids do you have?

We have two children – girls. They are both now older than when my husband and I met, so I guess they don’t count as “kids” any more! 😀 Our oldest is getting married in 57 days (but’s who’s counting?)
