  4. Hey WOB, are you and HOB going to be in France sometime this summer? I’m going to be there with the folks at Via Lucis for a few days this May but might be back in June. Given our mutual enthusiasm for all things Romanesque it could be fun to rendezvous somewhere! Ciao!

    1. No, unfortunately we won’t be in France this summer–I wish we could rendezvous with Via Lucis to indulge our mutual love of the Romanesque. We won’t have a chance to return until early 2015. Where will you go in France?

      1. I’m going to be following Dennis and PJ around the Ardeche region and go south to Provence with them, but this is only for like 5 days. I might be back sometime later this summer with a cousin but I want to be somewhere that’s not stiflingly hot, so I’m hoping to be in Scandinavia for the majority of my time there.

  5. I’ve never been to to the Ardech region so look forward to reading your posts about it. Scandinavia sounds perfect, but isn’t it quite expense, esp. in the summer? Do you plan to couchsurf?

I love your blog post about Naples, although I am also a bit dubious about ‘See Naples and die’! I am there for two weeks and am so excited to see all the history of it, and obviously eat as much pizza as humanly possible! I’m heading round the world later this year on a shoe string budget so I’m looking forward to going through all your posts for tips and tricks!

    Hi there fellow traveler!
While exploring websites and blogs for inspiration, I found yours, and I have noticed how fantastic and inspiring it is! 🙂
I also like to travel, if only I could and had the power to do it more often! That’s why I and my companion had the idea to create something different in our country, Portugal – which I noticed that you haven’t visited yet.
If you ever come to Portugal, contact us. I think you would like our experiences 😉

Adeus! – Good bye in Portuguese 🙂

    1. October should be a great time to travel in France. Did you mean to say you were going Northwest towards Germany? If so, would you be going to Alsace? That is a lovely area. Strasbourg has great architecture and food, and in Colmar you can see the bizarre and fascinating Isenheim altarpiece.

      Like

  46. In a picnic I love to eat what you can find on the road, it becomes even more interesting, because for a picnic I love to ride a bike! Well, I love most everything that grows in the garden or field. Though I don’t really like to make this dish, as I like to have everything separated – it is much more useful and so better to feel the taste quality of each individual fruit or vegetable
