Checking in to the love hotel of Hsinchu

After a day with our extraordinarily nice relatives in Chutung, we have checked in to our hotel in Hsinchu, on the North East side of Taiwan.

The décor of our room is a bit…surprising.  And while the room is small, it comes with lots of freebies.  Such as condoms.

restbreak

People, we have found ourselves sleeping in a love hotel, which maybe shouldn’t have been so surprising since the hotel offers three hour “rest” bookings for 250 TWD (which is about $8 USD, not a bad deal).

Goodnight all.  In case you’re looking for the name of this hotel, I’ll leave that right here.  Try not to read into the meaning too deeply.

How we got to Hsinchu City: train from Taipei.

Where we slept: Golden Swallow Hotel.  Price: €26 for a double. Recommended: ask me tomorrow morning, wink wink

  1. Lol! Room looks fairly – you should have seen the love motel I stayed inin South Korea! Very private entrance, too.

    1. Oh my, you should have taken pictures.

I just can’t wrap my head around why they would have a kindergarten theme, but it seems that each floor or room has a different motif.

  2. I’m reading this during lunch at my desk, trying not to laugh too much! I’m guessing you shouldn’t ask to watch the Philippines movie….

    1. There are all these signs that say you can check out a dvd player from the desk for free….

    1. We actally walked through each floor of the hotel just so we could enjoy the weirdly inappropriate mural themes.

  4. Haha. Very amusing. The school bus motif would completely put me off!

    1. School buses not suggest “afternoon delight” to me either….

    1. Hey, you need at least two for a three hour “rest break”.

Isn’t a golden swallow considered by some to be very lucky and of great good fortune????

    1. Thanks for reblogging Jonathan.

I’m not sure about the legend of the swallows. The only ones I’ve ever seen are black, but still, I have plenty of good fortune.

      1. Perhaps n alternative to the less suitable story of that hotel’s name????
